Limbs of storm-battered trees
snatch at a churned leaden sky
Inside, all is serene
The Unknown Lodger
I awoke this morning
and you were gone
So many years you’d lodged
unsuspected in this house
Until today I saw you
The soulless trespasser
who stole my very life
Oh, I do not hate you, for
you knew not who you were
or what you did
I pity all of your
unnecessary suffering
and struggles to survive
No doubt you will wish
to visit once in a while
It will be different now
As a guest you will
be tolerated here
But never again
allowed to reside
For I have seen through
your cunning disguise
And now I am free
Jackhammer
In meditation, suddenly a jackhammer
chews up the silence.
It is my greatest friend.
Glastonbury Festival
A momentary dream,
a world within a world,
has arisen in Avalon
That mythic land
of Grail and legend
Came gathered together
a merry band of mystics
In tipis and yurts and
crazy-painted buses
To imagine a new land
of enlightenment and peace
Leatherworkers, carvers,
Tinkers and jewelers
Buskers, hustlers,
Dealers and stealers
Jugglers, clowns,
Mimes and comedians
Visionaries, prophets,
Poets and artists
Stoned astronomers lecturing
at two in the morning to
starry-eyed children of
the glory of the Sun
We did dawn meditation with
The Hiroshima Peace Flame
as the Tor rose up from the mist
We danced to trance at midnight
as flaming lanterns flew high
to honor the full solstice moon
For a few days we were
in a land called possibility,
but all dreams come to an end
Dispersed again, slowly we headed
back to the gray lands beyond
But in our eyes new light shone,
and in our hearts burned a fire
For our spirits tasted a freedom
that had transformed our souls.
House martins
House martins looping, swooping
Harvesting insects in morning sunlight
Mmmm….breakfast

Many thanks to everyone who reads a finger pointing; I value you all. I have been quite sick the past few days, but plan to be back blogging very soon.
Red maple leaves
Red maple leaves
aflame with morning sunlight
Bring eternity to this fleeting life
The irony of it all
I desperately wanted awakening
Dreamed of the bliss it would bring
But now it has knocked at my door
It seems there is nobody in
Dawn meditation
Morning at sunrise
Buttocks on zafu
The monkey chatters
and throws bananas
Knee joints tremble
and grind out pain
Frogs croak
Cattle moan
A donkey complains
Birds sing in the dawn
Sunlight stripes the floor
Slowly, slowly
Eternal stillness is sensed
Embracing pain, chattering,
songs and complaints
Then just awareness of
Light
Pain
Birds
Arising and passing
as mind dissolves into
Silence
Soul Journey
The walls fell away,
my soul flew out into space
Became one of the beings
of the heavenly race
A light shone in darkness
Only love all around
Angel voices within
told me something profound
Something too long forgotten
sought after so many years
Then awakening came
and slayed all my fears
This time for good
I knew my true worth
And that heavenly light
now shines here on Earth
